Thanks to the strategic partnership, the Cologne-based energy service provider will benefit from the many years of pioneering work in the field of using electric cars as electricity storage in the grid and will be able to expand its range of services in the future, particularly in terms of energy supply for households and e-mobility. The investment and partnership with the market leader for vehicle-grid integration, The Mobility House, is making a significant contribution to linking the energy and mobility sectors and thus making an important contribution to the transformation of the energy world.
RheinEnergie, the nationwide energy supplier based in Cologne and the Rhenish region, is pursuing the goal of ensuring a sustainable supply by 2035. The new partnership supports this goal through the intelligent integration of vehicle batteries into the grid. The potential that the cooperation with The Mobility House opens up for RheinEnergie will also be demonstrated in future by a special product offering for EVs.
Andreas Feicht, CEO of RheinEnergie:
“This strategic alliance is an important building block for our future, but above all for our customers. With The Mobility House at our side, we are gaining expertise and considerably more creative freedom, particularly in the area of digital and networked services relating to real estate and mobility.”
Thomas Raffeiner, CEO of The Mobility House:
“We are delighted to welcome RheinEnergie as an investor and partner. Together, we can realize our “zero zero” vision of charging electric cars free of charge and with zero emissions more quickly and make it accessible to a wider public.”
This year, RheinEnergie will offer an electricity tariff for the private sector that will reduce charging costs by three-digit amounts per year. The Mobility House is supplying the technology components, while RheinEnergie remains the direct contractual partner as a trusted energy supplier.
